Yes. In principle the make or model does not matter: we import passenger cars and delivery vans from Germany, from Skoda, SEAT, Ford, Opel, Toyota, Kia and Hyundai to any BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Audi, Volvo or Tesla version. Non-German makes such as Volvo, Land Rover, Hyundai and Kia are well represented in Germany; French and Italian makes are available there too, but to a lesser extent.

How does importing a delivery van such as a VW Transporter, Crafter, Mercedes Sprinter or Vito or a Ford Transit work?
These models feature frequently in our range; the majority of the commercial vehicles we import are from Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Renault and Opel. You search on our website by make and model and request the van you have in mind from us.
The price you see is the drive-away price on a Dutch registration, including BPM (Dutch vehicle registration tax) and the Standaard import package (standard package), and excluding VAT because commercial vehicles are almost always bought for business use.
For delivery vans on a grey licence plate, a separate BPM treatment applies for entrepreneurs. For vans with a date of first admission up to and including 31 December 2024, the BPM for an entrepreneur who meets the conditions can come out at zero euros, regardless of year of manufacture or mileage. Whether that applies in your situation is assessed by an import adviser when you apply.
With larger vans, we also check whether the transport fits within our possibilities.
What about warranty and maintenance in the Netherlands for makes with few dealers, such as Tesla, BYD, MG or Omoda?
We can also import these makes for you; in principle the make does not matter. As for the warranty, a factory or brand warranty generally applies EU-wide, meaning that in many cases you can simply go to an official service point or brand dealer in the Netherlands. If there is a dealer or Real Garant warranty, then you handle that in accordance with its conditions.
For makes that still have only a limited network in the Netherlands, it is wise to check in advance which service points are near you and what exactly the warranty conditions say. We read out the advertisement and the warranty papers for you and let you know what applies to the car in question.

How do I see on the German papers exactly which version a car is?
The basis is in the Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I. At D.1 is the make, at D.2 the type approval data (Typ, Variante, Version) and at D.3 the trade designation. In addition, under 2.1 and 2.2 are the HSN and TSN: the German make and type key numbers. Together with the CoC, these establish exactly which version it concerns.
What is not stated is the trim line or a special edition; you derive that from the advertisement and the options list. It is precisely that which determines with which Dutch version the car is compared for the BPM (Dutch vehicle registration tax), so it pays to establish it properly in advance.
We read out the advertisement for you and can request the vehicle papers from the seller if you make use of one of our import packages. If you are unsure about a version, then present it to us before you buy.
This version was never sold in the Netherlands, so how is the catalogue price determined?
This happens regularly: German models have engines, versions and option packages that never appeared on the Dutch price list.
If the model or version was never sold in the Netherlands, the new price of the most comparable Dutch model on the date of first admission is used as the basis. Added to that are the factory options with which the car is equipped, each at the price that applied at the time, including VAT and BPM (Dutch vehicle registration tax). Only options and special versions fitted by or on behalf of the manufacturer count.
Comparing and deriving this is labour-intensive work, especially because German advertisements are often not complete about the exact equipment. We do this for you and record the substantiation, so that the value can be justified if the tax authorities ask about it. Do the radio, navigation and other systems of a German car simply work in the Netherlands?
Yes, in practice everything just works. It is exactly the same car from the same factory: a model is not built differently for Germany than for the Netherlands. German cars are European type-approved and use the same standards as Dutch ones: FM and DAB+ are in the same frequency bands, the speedometer shows km/h and km, and eCall dials the emergency number 112 throughout Europe.
Das Import (car import company) sets the language and navigation settings to Dutch for you and to map material for the Netherlands and Europe, so that the car arrives ready for use.

I want to import an electric car from Germany — what about charging, battery warranty and the condition of the battery?
Charging is not a problem in the Netherlands: German EVs have the same type-2 connection and fast-charging standard as here, so the public charging network and a Dutch charging card simply work. It is advisable, however, to check with the seller whether the car is supplied with a type-2 charging cable. In addition, upon arrival we check for the presence of the charging cables and the charge level of the battery, and if necessary, with your permission, we charge it at cost price. We link brand-specific functions and apps to your account after import.
For the battery warranty and battery health the following applies: ask the seller whether there is documentation of it, such as a warranty certificate or an SoH report. We do not offer a battery test ourselves, but if necessary we request these details from the seller for you.

I am hesitating between two models, for example a BMW X3 or an Audi Q5. Can you help me choose?
Yes, we do this regularly. Our import advisers ask you a few short questions — what you use the car for, how many kilometres you drive per year, your budget and your preference for fuel or transmission — and then place the models side by side on version, engine, options and the available German supply. We also take the financial side into account: for each option we give an indication of the total import costs and the BPM (Dutch vehicle registration tax), so that you can see which choice turns out to be the most interesting.
If you are hesitating between fuel or drivetrain, the answer depends on your situation. Our own research shows that driving electric is not automatically cheaper than petrol or diesel; the break-even point differs per mileage and use.

Is a car imported from Germany worth less later when sold in the Netherlands?
Not by definition. Import cars are now a normal part of the Dutch used car market. In 2025, more than 310,000 passenger cars were imported; approximately 1 in 8 passenger cars traded in the Netherlands was an import car.
For the later value, what mainly matters is what kind of car you buy and how well the history is documented. Model, version, mileage, maintenance, general condition and damage history all play an important role. With a well-documented import car, the foreign origin in itself therefore need not be a reason for a lower residual value.
That is precisely why, upon purchase, we pay a lot of attention to the origin of the car. We aim to purchase from official brand dealers and verified sellers and, where possible, request the maintenance history, mileage and information about any previous damage. A clear and demonstrable history is also important for a later sale. The ANWB actually cites an unclear maintenance, mileage or damage history as an important point of attention with import cars.
On the other hand, the German market is much larger and cars there are regularly available in richer versions. Germany is therefore by far the most important country of origin for Dutch used car imports. An attractive version, good options, low mileage and demonstrable history can actually work in the car's favour at a later sale.
In short: not the fact that a car is imported, but mainly the quality of the car and the verifiability of its past determine how attractive it is later as a used car.
What exactly do brand programmes such as BMW Premium Selection, Audi Approved :plus, Mercedes Junge Sterne, Porsche Approved, Das WeltAuto or Volvo Selekt entail when importing from Germany?
These are official used-car programmes of car manufacturers and their dealer networks. Cars offered under such a programme generally have to meet additional requirements regarding, among other things, age, mileage, service history and technical condition. The car is inspected according to the guidelines of the relevant brand and is offered with additional warranty.
The precise conditions differ per brand programme. Consider the duration and scope of the warranty, breakdown assistance, the technical inspection carried out and requirements regarding maintenance and history. A car within such a programme therefore generally offers more certainty than a random used car without a brand programme.
When importing from Germany, it is especially important whether the accompanying warranty also remains valid after Registratie (registration) in the Netherlands. Manufacturer's warranty is generally valid throughout Europe. Most additional warranties from German brand dealers and brand programmes are also valid in the Netherlands, but the exact conditions may differ per programme and car. We are therefore happy to check this for you before purchase.
If the existing warranty is not sufficient or expires soon, additional warranty can in many cases be taken out. The options, term, coverage and costs thereof depend on, among other things, the car, age and mileage. We can check in advance for you which options are available for the relevant car.
Which models do you import most often and with which cars is the price advantage the greatest?
BMW is the most popular brand among our customers. In our recent import figures we see in particular many BMW models, including the X5 and X3. Premium SUVs such as the Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC and Volvo XC60 are also imported through us a lot. In addition, we regularly import models from, among others, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Volvo, Land Rover and Volkswagen.
Which car yields the greatest price advantage cannot be answered with a single model or percentage. The difference between Germany and the Netherlands depends strongly on the version, options, mileage, age, BPM (Dutch vehicle registration tax) and current asking prices.
Particularly with well-equipped and relatively young cars, Germany can be interesting, because the supply there is much larger and there is often more choice of specific versions and option packages. The advantage therefore lies not only in the purchase price, but regularly also in finding a better-equipped car for the same budget.

Can an outstanding recall or software update of my imported car also be carried out in the Netherlands?
Recalls are issued by the manufacturer on chassis number (VIN), not per country. An official brand dealer in the Netherlands can therefore see, based on the VIN, whether there are any actions still outstanding for your car and carry them out; in the case of a genuine recall this is generally done free of charge. The digital service history is also linked to the VIN, so it is visible at a Dutch brand dealer and does not have to be transferred separately. Parts for a model delivered in Germany are as a rule simply available through the Dutch brand network.
